Inspired by the programme of the main stage of the Deutsche Oper Berlin – with the premiere of Richard Strauss's FRAU OHNE SCHATTEN and the symphony concert with Maurice Ravel's L'HEURE ESPAGNOLE – this evening is dedicated to the song works of the two composers. The poet Asmus Trautsch, whose work has always oscillated between language and music, will respond to the songs. He studied literature and composition, founded a literary publishing house and a network for new music, and organises intermedia cultural events.

***

Classical art songs and modern poetry – lieder recital meets poetry reading in this series of events organised jointly with the Haus für Poesie Berlin. Each of the four evening events held in the foyer of the Deutsche Oper Berlin will feature a poet reading original works whose themes complement the songs on the programme.
