The first premiere of the next season will be Ottorino Respighi's LA FIAMMA. Director Christof Loy returns to the Deutsche Oper Berlin for this new production, continuing his series of opulent operas from the first third of the 20th century. After Zandonai's FRANCESCA DA RIMINI, Schreker's DER SCHATZGRÄBER and Korngold's DAS WUNDER DER HELIANE, he now turns his attention to LA FIAMMA, which was first performed in Rome in 1934. The conductor is Carlo Rizzi, who creates the opulent world of sound in Ottorino Respighi's last great opera. Aušrine Stundyte, Georgy Vasiliev, Vladislav Sulimsky, Martina Serafin and Doris Soffel will perform the main roles.
