Yosep Kang

Der koreanische Tenor Yosep Kang studierte Gesang in Seoul, Salzburg und Berlin. Er ist Preisträger internationaler Wettbewerbe wie dem G. B. Viotti, Vercelli (2000), dem Belvedere Gesangswettbewerb, Wien (2001), dem Wolfang Amadeus Mozart Wettbewerb, Salzburg (2002), dem Concurso internacional de canto, Barcelona (2003) und dem Internationalen Gesangswettbewerb Ferruccio Tagliavini, Graz (2004).

Von 2003 bis 2013 gehörte Yosep Kang dem Ensemble der Deutsche Oper Berlin an, wo er mit Partien wie Herzog von Mantua (RIGOLETTO), Rodolfo (LA BOHEME), Edgardo (LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR), Fenton (FALSTAFF), Tamino (ZAUBERFLÖTE), Alfredo (LA TRAVIATA), Don Ottavio (DON GIOVANNI), Sänger (DER ROSENKAVALIER), Conte Almaviva (DER BARBIER VON SEVILLA), Macduff (MACBETH) und Ismaele (NABUCCO) große Erfolge feiert. Bereits in dieser Zeit gastierte er mit seinen Partien an der Bayerischen Staatsoper München, der Staatsoper Berlin, der Semperoper Dresden und den Opernhäusern von Stuttgart, Köln, Essen, Mannheim, Wiesbaden, Hannover oder Lyon.

Seit 2013 freischaffend, interpretierte er Herzog von Mantua (RIGOLETTO), Sänger (DER ROSENKAVALIER) und Arnold (GUILLAUME TELL) an der Bayerischen Staatsoper München. An der Wiener Staatsoper sang er Rodolfo (LA BOHEME) an der Seite von Angela Gheorghiu, wohin er im Mai 2014 als Hoffmann in LES CONTES D'HOFFMANN zurückkehrte. Als Rodolfo (LA BOHEME) und Sänger (DER ROSENKAVALIER) trat er an der Semperoper Dresden auf, als Herzog von Mantua (RIGOLETTO) in Leipzig und am Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, als Tebaldo (I CAPULETI E I MONTECCHI) bei den Festspielen Baden-Baden und am Grand Theatre de Geneve, als Arnold (GUILLAUME TELL) in der Neuproduktion der Hamburgischer Staatsoper, in Graz und Warschau.

Konzerte sang Yosep Kang an renommierten Häusern wie dem Wiener Musikverein, der Berliner Philharmonie, dem Konzerthaus Berlin, dem Gewandhaus Leipzig, der Dresdener Kreuzkirche, am Prinzregententheater und am Herkulessaal in München, bei den Musikfestspielen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in der St. Paul Cathedral London, in der NHK-Hall Tokio unter Dirigenten wie Myung-Whun Chung, Jesús López Cobos, Enoch zu Guttenberg, Marek Janowski, Rolf Reuter, Helmuth Rilling und Christian Thielemann.
