Alex Esposito

Alex Esposito stammt aus Bergamo, wo er auch Klavier und Orgel studierte. Seine Stimme ließ er bei Romano Roma und Sherman Lowe ausbilden. 2007 wurde er vom Italienischen Kritiker-Verband mit dem wichtigsten Preis für italienische Musiker ausgezeichnet, mit dem „Premio Abbiati“ als „Bester Sänger der Saison 2005/2006“.

Sein Werdegang ist gekennzeichnet von der Zusammenarbeit mit bedeutenden Dirigenten (Claudio Abbado, Antonio Pappano, Myung-Whun Chung, Kent Nagano, Daniele Gatti, Fabio Biondi) und Regisseuren (Peter Mussbach, Claus Guth, Graham Vick, Damiano Michieletto, Pierluigi Pizzi). Er gastiert auf den renommiertesten Bühnen der Welt, darunter die Mailänder Scala, La Fenice in Venedig, die Wiener und die Bayerische Staatsoper, die Deutsche Oper Berlin, das Royal Opera House London, das Teatro Real in Madrid, die Opéra National in Paris, die Festspiele in Salzburg und in Aix-en-Provence sowie das Rossini-Festival in Pesaro.

Zu den denkwürdigen Interpretationen des herausragenden Mozart-Sängers zählen Leporello an der Scala, der Deutschen Oper Berlin und der Bayerischen Staatsoper, Papageno in Mailand und danach in München – als erster Italiener sang Alex Esposito die Rolle in der Originalsprache auf einer internationalen Bühne –, Figaro sowie Guglielmo in COSÌ FAN TUTTE.

Zu den jüngsten Engagements zählen L'ELISIR D'AMORE, DON GIOVANNI, LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, LES CONTES D'HOFFMANN und MACBETH an der Bayerischen Staatsoper, LA DAMNATION DE FAUST und IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA an der Oper Rom, erneut LES CONTES D'HOFFMANN und MOSÈ IN EGITTO am San Carlo in Neapel, FAUST und DON QUICHOTTE (Rollendebüt) an der Deutschen Oper Berlin, MACBETH in Macerata (ein weiteres Rollendebüt), SEMIRAMIDE an der Bayerischen Staatsoper und am La Fenice, IL TURCO IN ITALIA und Rossinis „Stabat Mater“ an der Scala, das Debüt als Filippo II in DON CARLO am La Fenice in Venedig, DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE an der Opéra de Paris, ANNA BOLENA an der Oper in Rom und am Grand Théâtre de Genève und FAUST am La Fenice in Venedig.

Members of the Deutsche Oper Berlin ensembles look forward to shortening the days until Christmas Eve with personalised musical programmes in which you will hear Christmas classics as well as absolute rarities, perhaps never heard before. Just come by and experience our artists up close.
