Jakop Ahlbom

Jakop Ahlboms Arbeiten der letzten 15 Jahren dokumentieren seinen ganz eigenen Theaterstil, in dem sich Pantomime, Tanz, Musik und Illusionskunst mischen. Ahlbom, 1971 in Schweden geboren, kam in den 90er Jahren in die Niederlande, wo er an der renommierten Amsterdamer Theaterschule Pantomime studierte. 1998 erhielt er den „Top Naeffprijs“ als vielversprechendster Student. Nach dem Studienabschluss arbeitete er zunächst mit den „Dutch theatremakers“ (dort u. a. mit Karina Holla, Roy Peters, Alex d’Electrique, De Daders, Nieuw West, De Groep van Steen, de PeerGrouP/ZappSnacks, Orkater, het Ro theater und Unieke Zaken), bevor er 2000 seine erste eigene Produktion STELLA MARIS am Het Veem Theater in Amsterdam herausbrachte.

Von diesem Zeitpunkt an arbeitete er regelmäßig unter seinem Namen: NUR ZUR ERINNERUNG (2002), LOST (2004), VIELFALT (2006), die auch in Schweden, Dänemark, Rumänien, in der Schweiz, in Deutschland und Belgien gastierten; DE ARCHITECT (2008) und INNENSCHAU (2010) wurden in den Niederlanden, in Finnland und Österreich gegeben; LEBENSRAUM (2012) in Frankreich, Spanien und 2014 in den USA; 2013 entstand LIFE: A USERS MANUAL. Im Februar 2014 inszenierte Jakop Ahlbom den Psychotriller BUG von Tracey Letts mit Tamar van de Dop und Bram Coopmans. Es folgten HORROR und jüngst LE BAL.

Seine Kreationen wurden mit zahlreichen Preisen geehrt, darunter der Preis des „Dutch Theatre Festival“; für LEBENSRAUM erhielt er den „VSCD Mime Prize“ 2012 sowie die Nominierung von Silke Hundertmark als „beste Schauspielerin international“ für den „Colombina“ 2012.

An der Deutschen Oper Berlin erarbeitete er 2013 für die Tischlerei eine eigene Version von Offenbachs LES CONTES D'HOFFMANN. Mit DON QUICHOTTE stellt er sich erstmals als Opernregisseur vor.
