In word and sound, the memorial concerts "Wider das Vergessen" (Against Forgetting) remember members of the Städtische Oper (until 1933) and the Deutsches Opernhaus (from 1934) who were excluded, persecuted or murdered by the National Socialists. In the 3rd edition of this series, the theatre painter Georg Freude, who was a communist, and the three Jewish artists will be presented in the Tischlerei on 7 February: Soprano Beata Malkin, chorus member Wally Ofner-Tuchler and dancer Julia Marcus, will be honoured. Therefore, the artistic programme of this commemorative concert will be created by orchestra members, by Oliver Boyd ( chorus), Sua Jo ( ensemble) and the solo dancer of the State Ballet, Iana Balova. The texts will be spoken by the actress Margarita Broich. Works by Johannes Brahms, Hanns Eisler, Julius Fučik, Hans Krása, Pavel Haas, Igor Loboda and John Cage will be performed.
