Call for Applications
For the music theater production ENDLICH (composition: Asia Ahmetjanova, direction: Franziska Angerer), in co-production with the Munich Biennale, Deutsche Oper Berlin is seeking lead performers aged 65 and over (m/f/d), both amateurs and professionals. The Berlin premiere will take place on May 22, 2026, in the Tischlerei of Deutsche Oper Berlin.
The piece addresses in a playful and sensual way the human body in the process of aging, its transformations, physical limitations, as well as nudity in later life. As a member of a group of seven performers, you will be present on stage for the entire evening (duration: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes).

Requirements
- Minimum age: 65 years
- Willingness to present your own body and voice in the framework of an artistic work
- Requirement: scenic nudity is part of the concept
- Age-related physical limitations are explicitly welcome and will be taken into account in the rehearsal process
- No stage experience required
- No vocal training required
- Applications from people with professional artistic back-grounds (in singing, dance, acting) are equally welcome
Schedule
- January 5–23, 2026: 10 rehearsals of 3 hours each
- April 13–30, 2026: Full-time rehearsals (max. 33 hours/week)
- From May 19, 2026: Final rehearsals (max. 33 hours/week)
- May 22, 2026: Premiere
- May 26 / 28 / 29 / 30, 2026: Additional performances
Fee
The fee is based on the current minimum fee level set by the German Association of Independent Performing Arts (BFDK).

Orchesterakademie

Die Dauer der Ausbildung beträgt 2 Jahre. Das Ausbildungsprogramm enthält: vorbereitenden Instrumentalunterricht bei Mentor*innen aus dem Orchester, Mitwirkung bei 10 Diensten pro Monat (Proben und Vorstellungen / Oper, Ballett und Konzert), Probespieltraining Korrepetitionsstunden, Mentaltraining. Ausbildungsvergütung: € 1.000,00 im Monat (inklusive Stipendium des Förderkreises der Deutschen Oper Berlin e. V.).
