Aribert Reimann died on 13 March 2024. His operas have had a lasting impact on music theatre in recent decades and expanded the expressive possibilities of the human voice. Throughout his life, the Berlin-born composer maintained a close relationship with the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Over the course of almost 50 years, several stage works were created in collaboration with this theatre, including his last opera L'INVISIBLE. An excerpt from this work is also at the centre of the memorial concert that the Deutsche Oper Berlin is now dedicating to its honorary member. In addition, a song from the cycle "Eingedunkelt", interpreted by Annika Schlicht, and Gustav Mahler's Ninth Symphony will be performed with the Deutsche Oper Berlin Orchestra conducted by Sir Donald Runnicles.
