Klaus Bruns

Klaus Bruns studierte Bühnenbild und Kostümentwurf am Mozarteum in Salzburg. Seit über 25 Jahren ist er als Kostümbildner für Schauspiel und Oper tätig. Im Schauspiel, u. a. an den Schauspielhäusern von Stuttgart, Graz, Frankfurt, Zürich, Hamburg, Köln, Leipzig, dem Burgtheater in Wien, dem Thalia-Theater Hamburg, der Schaubühne und dem Deutschen Theater Berlin, dem Residenztheater und den Kammerspielen in München mit verschiedenen Regisseuren, verbindet ihn eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit Karin Henkel.

Neben vielen anderen Opernproduktionen mit einigen namhaften Regisseuren wie Harry Kupfer, Peter Mussbach, Götz Friedrich, Kirsten Harms, Damiano Michieletto u. a. an den drei Berliner Opernhäusern, dem Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, dem Teatro Regio Turin, den Opernhäusern in Mannheim, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Antwerpen, dem Rossini-Festival in Pesaro, usw., arbeitet er seit einigen Jahren mit Barrie Kosky in Schauspiel und Oper: an der Staatsoper Hannover DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN, Strindbergs TRAUMSPIEL am Deutschen Theater Berlin, am Schauspiel Frankfurt DER KAUFMANN VON VENEDIG, RUSALKA, MOSES UND ARON und EUGEN ONEGIN an der Komischen Oper Berlin, LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST und MACBETH am Opernhaus Zürich, DER FEURIGE ENGEL an der Münchner Staatsoper, in Vorbereitung sind Arbeiten an der Komischen Oper, der Bayerischen Staatsoper, der Oper Zürich, den Bayreuther Festspielen, de Vlaamse Opera Antwerpen, der Opéra de la Bastille in Paris, dem Theater an der Wien, der Opéra Nationale de Wallonie Liège, der Metropolitan Opera New York usw.

On 1 December, it's that time again. Our already traditional Advent calendar welcomes you with free admission. Members of the Deutsche Oper Berlin ensembles look forward to shortening the days until Christmas Eve with personalised musical programmes in which you will hear Christmas classics as well as absolute rarities, perhaps never heard before. Just come by and experience our artists up close.
