We were saddened to hear of the sudden death of video artist Torge Møller. With his numerous works, first within the framework of the production company fettFilm, which he co-founded, but in recent years also as an independent artist, Torge Møller has significantly shaped our view of music theatre. The fact that today cinematic means are taken for granted as an independent narrative category is due not least to the persuasive power of his works. Two important Wagner productions at the Deutsche Oper are testimony to this: Der RIENZI, in which he participated in 2010, then still in a team with Momme Hinrichs, and the new production of RING DES NIBELUNGEN directed by Stefan Herheim.

Now, at the age of 50, Torge Møller has been torn from the midst of the many projects with which he wanted to develop his work. Our thoughts are with his wife and three children and we will honour his memory.
