While Chez Company's KARAOPER premieres at Tischlerei, the digital film premiere "The Making of Blond" brings another collaborative project between Chez Company and Deutsche Oper Berlin to a close.

Can we redesign ourselves? ask the makers of Chez Company. "The making of Blond" is a musical essay film, a playful research with the composers Thomas Kürstner and Sebastian Vogel and the tenors Burkhard Ulrich and Jörg Schörner. How fixed are the roles on stage and in the life behind it? Could music be a redemption?

The premiere of this film marks the finale of a multi-year co-production project by three partners. From 2020 to 2023, Chez Company developed several productions under the title "Theblondproject": A performance together with Caroline Peters at Vienna's Burgtheater and a musical exploration as an opera premiere at and with the Deutsche Oper Berlin. The film that has now been made takes the production to a third, digital location in a new medium.
