Davide Damiani

Der italienische Bariton Davide Damiani studierte Gesang, Kontrabass, Komposition und Orchesterleitung in Pesaro, Parma und Bologna. Im Jahr 1992 war er Assistent des Chefdirigenten Gustav Kuhn in Macerata, was ihm Engagements in Italien und Europa einbrachte. Sein Debüt als Bariton gab er in einer Produktion von DON GIOVANNI in Tel Aviv.

Als Mitglied der Wiener Staatsoper war er von 1995 bis 1999 in MADAMA BUTTERFLY, LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, L'ELISIR D'AMORE, Giordanos FEDORA mit Placido Domingo und José Cura, Enescus OEDIPE (auf CD aufgenommen) und Verdis JERUSALEM mit José Carreras unter der Leitung von Zubin Mehta zu hören (und im Fernsehen übertragen). Er trat in Neapel in L'ELISIR D'AMORE mit Luciano Pavarotti auf, in Turin, Cardiff, Palm Beach, Toronto und Verona in DON GIOVANNI, in Palermo in MANON LESCAUT, in Genua und Florenz in THE RAPE OF LUCRETIA, in Ravenna, Catania und Modena in THE RAKE'S PROGRESS, in St. Gallen in DON GIOVANNI, L'ELISIR D'AMORE, ARIADNE AUF NAXOS, in Tokio in MADAMA BUTTERFLY und LA TRAVIATA, in Tel Aviv in LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR, in Düsseldorf in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO und DON GIOVANNI, in Berlin und Bergamo in LA BOHÈME, in Cagliari in Granados' GOYESCAS (auf CD); in Bologna in Fabio Vacchis LES OISEAUX DE PASSAGE und in Guido Turchis EXIL; in Bari in Piccinnis DIDON (auf CD), in Basel in FALSTAFF, in Wexford in Mercadantes IL GIURAMENTO (auf CD) und in RIGOLETTO.

Davide Damiani sang auch in Beethovens Neunter Symphonie unter der Leitung von Riccardo Chailly in Mailand und mit der Philharmonie der Ukraine in Kiew, in PETER GRIMES unter der Leitung von Philippe Jordan in Graz, in seinem ersten NABUCCO (im Fernsehen übertragen) und in AIDA auf dem Sommerfestival in Split, in DON GIOVANNI in Bari, in THE RAPE OF LUCRETIA in Reggio Emilia, Modena und Parma, in Mercadantes LA VESTALE und in PAGLIACCI beim Wexford Festival, in Beethovens Neunter Symphonie mit dem Orchester des Turiner Teatro Regio unter der Leitung von Gerd Albrecht, in Dallapiccolas IL VOLO DI NOTTE in Mailand, in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO in Bari und in I PURITANI an der Palm Beach Opéra, in RIGOLETTO und UN BALLO IN MASCHERA in Bern, in MANON LESCAUT und LA TRAVIATA in Venedig, in LA TRAVIATA in Tel Aviv, in ADRIANA LECOUVREUR in Frankfurt, in MACBETH in Genf, in DON CARLO in Warschau, in Massenets MANON und CARMEN in Palermo, in LES VÊPRES SICILIENNES in Nizza, in LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST in Hamburg.

Davide Damiani hat mit namhaften Dirigenten wie Muti, Mehta, Harnoncourt, Viotti, Ono, Frühbeck de Burgos, Luisi, Chailly, Guadagno, Palumbo, Neschling, Rizzi, Oren, R. Abbado, P. Jordan, Rundel und Regisseuren wie Zeffirelli, Neuenfels, Carsen, Lievi, Pountney, Lawless, Friedrich, Dornhelm, D. Abbado, Bondy, Vick, Loy und Pizzi gearbeitet.
